The medium of instructions at NPS is English and it is the First Language at all levels. The Academic year begins in April and ends in March.

Pre Primary Level

Primary Level: Classes I and V

In consonance with the guidance laid by the C.B.S.E, the school has adopted a grade based evaluation and assessment technique framed on a five point structure.

The subjects for the lower primary classes, i.e., Standard I to II are, English, Tamil and Mathematics.

For the upper primary classes, i.e., Standard III to V are, English, Tamil, Mathematics and EVS.

Middle Level: Classes VI to VIII

A Remodeled assessment methodology is implemented which optimizes the academic performance levels on equitable basis to all pupils in a stress free environment. Students are evaluated on both Paper-Pen based Assessments and internal assessments. The paper pen assessments are done periodically and at the end of term. The term end exam is taken for 80% of the academic performace expression and the periodic tests, Note book submission & subject enrichment activities are considered for 20% (Viz.,10% + 5% +5% respectively). This method leads to a better learning environment and its assessment in a continuous manner. The evaluation system by-far covers the Scholastic and co-scholastic development of the Students.
